Challenges.re #14 – JVM/.Net Assembly

-[ Introduction ]

This is a very quick post about a challenge I just solved and found interesting. It’s a Java “what’s this code doing?” type of challenge, and since I haven’t touched Java bytecode in a while I thought I’d give it a go!

The original challenge can be found here, and many many more can be found here!

Entry Language – DefCamp CTF Quals 2015 (RE100)

–[ Introduction ]

Hello all! It has been a while since I wrote anything so I thought I’d write about a quick challenge I solved for DefCamp qualifiers 2015. Unfortunately I had only a few hours to spare, so I only managed to solve exploit1 and re1.

This was also a really good opportunity to get my PIN-fu in action, as I’ve been wanting for a while to fire a PINtool at something!

Switchy – OpenToAll CTF 2015

This is the write-up of the second reverse engineering challenge from the OpenToAll(OTA) team CTF in 2015, worth 150 points. Although I did not manage to play the CTF, I had a brief look and thought I’d give this a go.

For those of you who want to get started playing CTFs, are curious to see what a CTF is, or do not have a team to play with, then I highly recommend joining OTA. I started playing CTFs with them and met some really cool people and learnt some tricks. You can find them under /r/opentoallctfteam or in #opentoall on Freenode IRC.
